Pelo de Gato

Today was supposed to be the first day that we went to volunteer in one of the elementary schools, but for some reason, class was cancelled. So we'll start with our first English lesson tomorrow with the second group of kiddos.

Even though we are here technically in the dry season, there is an occasional "shower" that happens in the afternoons. This kind of rain is so slight and so thin that I usually think that I'm imagining it, because sometimes I don't even see clouds in the sky. This kind of rain has a name in Costa Rica, and that would be 'pelo de gato,' or 'cat hair.'

I have no idea why it's called that, but then again, I'm also not sure why we say that it's raining cats and dogs at home sometimes. Either way, it's a new experience, and it's usually refreshing.
